You can drive on a worn Polaris RZR belt right up until you can’t. The belt doesn’t fail gradually and give you a warning window. Signs your belt is past due

Visible glazing (a shiny, hardened look on the belt’s sides) or cracking across the ribs. Noticeably less power getting to the wheels, like the engine’s revving higher than it should for the speed you’re going. Any one of these on its own is worth a look. What actually happens if it snaps

You lose drive entirely. Not reduced power, no power. If it happens at speed on a trail, you’re coasting to a stop wherever momentum takes you, which is fine on flat ground and a real problem on a hill climb or side-slope. It’s not usually dangerous, but it is a walk back to the truck or a call for a tow, and a snapped belt can occasionally take some clutch hardware with it on the way out, turning a cheap fix into an expensive one.
